The Journey, the Promise and the Rewards

Few cultures have expressed themselves with the flair and artistry of ancient and medieval India. The shaping hands of India’s artisans have sculptured visual poetry from silk, stone, bronze, silver, gold, ceramic and marble.

The intensity and depth of the Indian cultural canvas has always left scholars in awe of its multi-hued legacy.

The journey of CIE on the path of the preservation of ancient Indian arts and crafts began at a point, when the artisan was left unprotected and uncared in post independent India. With abolishment of the princely states the patron was missing.

At CIE, the mission to continue to add wealth to India’s rich heritage is an ongoing effort that goes beyond adding wealth to the organization. It is a matter of pride and privilege. A most effort to preserve and nurture India’s spiritual and cultural legacy.

Today CIE displays the arts of the once forgotten artisan from forts, palaces and heritage buildings all over India. Displays it in five continents at locations that would do any MUGHAL proud. In an ambience that is home to the artworks, carrying craftsmanship into the hearts and minds of collectors and royalty across the globe.

Be it the highest export awards bestowed by the Government of India, or the overall export excellence award from the Prime Minister, we wear it humbly on the sleeve of the artisan’s sweat that we represent. A hundred thousand artisans, weavers, craftsmen and women all over India.
